Brief info

Dr. Schoenung's technical work is focused on energy system analysis, including propulsion, energy storage, and renewable energy, including hydrogen and biofuels. She has academic and R&D experience in physics, thermodynamics, energy system design and economics. Her project expertise comes from laboratory experimentation, system design, test and evaluation design, and management of research teams for the International Energy Agency (IEA). She established her own consulting firm in 1995 and has managed it successfully for more than 25 years.

Dr. Schoenung's career assignments include Chevron Research Laboratory - Fuels and Lubricants Department / Engine Lab; Bechtel Research Group, Bechtel Engineering Company; W.J. Schafer Associates, Senior Research Engineer - Power and Propulsion Systems Engineering; and NASA Aeronautics Research Department - Environmental Research Aircraft and Sensor Technology Leadership Team. Given Dr. Schoenung’s experience, she is well-suited to lead teams in energy systems analysis, design, test planning and commissioning of hydrogen systems for generation, propulsion, and storage.

Dr. Schoenung received the IEA Group Achievement award in 2010, the NASA Group Achievement Award in 2000, and the Small Business Leadership Award from NASA in 1997. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Iowa State University and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
